4WD Trip: Coyote Canyon to Sheep Canyon

This 4WD trip winds its way through some of the most beautiful and historic desert terrain in all of Anza-Borrego.  Round trip distance is approximately 50 miles.  The trip begins by heading up Coyote Canyon, across three stream crossings, then up a steep and rocky road, and across the desert to the Sheep Canyon area.  Road conditions will vary depending upon rainfall.  This trip is a great and challenging ride that requires high-clearance 4WD vehicles with good tires and a full tank of gas.  We will select a nice place for lunch so be sure to pack food, water, and snacks. This is also a potluck trip, so bring a dish to share. BBQ meat will be supplied. Pit toilets are available at the Sheep Canyon campground. Meet at the ABDNHA Nature Center. Please be willing to carpool.   No charge, space is limited.
