The Secret Life of the Palo Verde

Borrego Springs knows how to celebrate April’s Arbor Day–our local Palo Verde trees burst into bouquets of golden glory that compel people to pull over and get out for a closer look. The Palo Verde does so well in the Borrego Valley that you will find it everywhere, as landscaping around homes and as native species spread across the desert environment. Botanist Kate Harper has spent many years researching the plants of Anza-Borrego, and tonight she focuses on the life of the Palo Verde, the tree that is perfectly adapted to thrive in our desert environment. Come discover the fascinating world of these “Green Sticks.” This program takes place at the Borrego Springs Performing Arts Center. No reservations necessary; seating is first-come first-served.
